A vertical cage-type accumulator is a key auxiliary device used in metal sheet and strip processing lines. Its primary function is to temporarily store steel strip to ensure continuous and stable operation of the entire line.
Operating Principle
When upstream production is normal, it stores a certain length of steel strip in advance. When upstream production is temporarily stopped for shearing and butt welding, it releases the previously stored steel strip to continuously supply the downstream, ensuring uninterrupted production.
Key Features
The vertical structure occupies a small footprint, conserving valuable factory space.
The steel strip is internally guided by multiple guide rollers, forming a "cage" structure that maximizes the strip's capacity.
It effectively absorbs speed mismatches and brief downtimes between upstream and downstream production lines, ensuring a smooth and continuous production process.
